In his twenties, NYC-based entrepreneur Ibrahim Phiri coordinated over 300 people across Southern Africa and Japan while building a professional tennis circuit that reached 1M+ unique viewers per month. He built it as a cultural bridge for Asia and Africa. IPI was built under real operating pressure, or as he puts it himself, “operator pressure.”
Political disruption, sponsor isolation, cross-border complexity, and conflicting incentives made the problem impossible to ignore. Alignment could no longer live inside one person’s head.

For 12 to 15 months, Ibrahim made or resolved roughly 50 consequential decisions a day. Most of the reasoning and context behind those decisions was never captured on paper or in software. Eventually, the mental load became unsustainable.
